UrbanisationAustralia is a massively urbanized country. Most Australians live in coastal areas with massive populations of 100,000 people. All together, these numbers make up Australia's population. But how about Sydney? Let me continue. Sydney is considered as the heart and the soul of Australia's urbanisation. It is predicted that Sydney will reach 4.9 million people by 2026. Sydney at the moment is experiencing what people call an 'Urban Sprawl'. Sydney's population is increasing dramatically every month from people all around Australia and the world. Read below to learn about the positive and negative effects on urbanisation in Sydney (Push and Pull Factors).
|
Positives (Pull Factors) |
Some positive impacts that Sydney's urbanisation is having on the city is that there are more job opportunities for people and more business' created. Lots of different ethnic restaurants will be included meaning much more variety of food and a more multicultural environment.
|
Negative (Push Factors) |
Although it has its positives, it also has some negatives. It creates a very crowded city centre and its hard to get around to places quickly. Travel time will dramatically increase and there will be lots more traffic jams meaning you won't be able to get from place to place quickly.
