More About SydneySydney is the worlds largest most natural harbour. It is located in a coastal basin bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Blue Mountains to the west, the Hawkesbury River to the north and the Woronora Plateau to the south. It also lies on a submergent coastline (stretches along the coast that have been inundated due to relative rise in sea levels) and there are more than 70 harbour and ocean beaches including the brilliant Bondi Beach and the sublime Manly Beach. The urban area of Sydney covers 1,788 km (690 miles). This area was home to 3,908,642 people with an urban population density of 2037 people per square kilometre.
